Founder of Underground Drum & Bass and Underground Events VZW. Artist manager, marketeer and designer with over ten years in the scene.
My name is Mick Sercu, also known in the scene as Kurai. I am 28 years old and live in Ghent. I've been involved in Drum & Bass and bass music for over ten years, growing from my early days as an amateur DJ and YouTube promoter to becoming the owner of Underground Drum & Bass and Underground Events VZW.
Over the last six years, I've organized events, hosted stages, and worked alongside some of the biggest names in the game, including Rampage, Let It Roll, Liquicity, Dour Festival, Sunrise Festival, and Studio Brussel. I have also played on major stages such as Rampage Open Air, Dour Festival, Kompass Klub, Invaderz, Let It Roll Prague, Bad Habitz, and many more!
Underground Drum & Bass is a brand focused on supporting and providing a platform for underground talent, a mission I am incredibly passionate about. In October 2025, we launched our own Underground Agency, and we currently represent a roster of over 20 talented Drum & Bass artists from Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany. I act as the artist manager for half of that roster, seeking new opportunities and helping them develop their careers with professional representation.
Outside of the scene, I've built a professional career in marketing, first at Spectrum and now as Marketing Manager at Besox Sociaal Secretariaat. In this role I manage all marketing for the company together with one colleague, leading campaigns across social media, Google, LinkedIn, TV, radio, and live activations.
It's allowed me to develop my skills across multimedia, web development/design, and marketing in a professional and challenging environment. I would love to unlock my full potential and be able to practice these skills in a sector that I am truly passionate about.
My strongest tool is Photoshop. I've been working with it at a professional level for over ten years. Graphic design has always been at the core of what I do, from event branding and campaign visuals to online content that grabs attention and keeps people engaged. I am skilled in all Adobe software, primarily Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, InDesign, After Effects and Premiere Pro. I also have extended experience building websites with industry standard CMS tools, from self building with Elementor PRO, Hostinger, HubSpot and WordPress to working with third party developers.
Over the years I've built a wide range of marketing skills. I've run paid digital campaigns on Meta, Google, LinkedIn and more. I'm experienced with social media planners like Story Chief, email builders, and building complete marketing funnels with HubSpot. My work covers everything from content creation and branding to targeted advertising and performance tracking and automation.
I've led teams in both professional marketing environments and in my non-profit VZW, where budgets are tight and resources are very limited. I've managed content creation teams, coordinated events, and overseen multimedia production from first idea to final delivery, always making sure the team stays focused and the work hits the mark. During the last years running Underground Drum & Bass I've networked a lot and built a network of figures in the scene and people working at brands in the music industry. I'm fluent in English and Dutch, both written and spoken.
I've spent six years organizing events, hosting stages and playing alongside some of the biggest names in the game. I've played major stages such as Rampage Open Air, Dour Festival, Kompass Klub, Invaderz, Let It Roll Prague and Bad Habitz. You can find more details in the .
The most rewarding project of my career was an Air Balloon Livestream, co-hosted with Liquicity, subsidized by the government, and featuring headliner Andromedik.
What excites me most is the idea of bringing my professional skills into a world I already feel deeply connected to. I've built my career in marketing, design and content, and I'm proud of what I've achieved, but being able to apply those skills in the bass music scene would be something else entirely. It's not just work for me, it's a part of my life.
With experience in large-scale marketing, hands-on content creation and events, I know how to take an idea from a spark to something that reaches the right people in the right way.
I genuinely believe this role is the perfect match, not just for me, but also for Better Together and Full Circle. When reading the job offer, I get excited and know I tick all the necessary boxes. It's rare to find a chance to bring your professional skills into a world you're truly passionate about. I'm confident that my experience, dedication, and love for the scene can help push Better Together's voice even further.
